Practical hints
Unlocking/locking in an emergency
୴
୴̈   If necessary, lock the trunk with the
mechanical key (୴ page 126).
Manually unlocking the gear selector
lever
̈   Open the storage compartment in the
center armrest (୴ page 285).
Except for the driver’s door, the vehicle
should now be locked.
̈   Take out the cup holder (୴ page 285).
In case of power failure, the gear selector
lever can be manually unlocked, e.g. to tow
the vehicle.
̈   Insert a suitable object 1 (e.g. a pin)
through the hole and press the pin
downward.
̈
Remove pin 1.
i The gear selector lever is locked again when
moving it to position P.

Insert the mechanical key 2 into the
driver’s door lock until it stops.
̈
Turn the mechanical key 2 clockwise
to position 1.
The driver’s door is locked.
i This procedure does not arm the anti-theft
alarm system, nor does it lock the fuel filler flap.
