To some it’s an expedition. To you it’s merely a shortcut
All-terrain ability with the Off-Road Pro Package
The greatest adventures are those that take you
where others cannot follow. With the optional
Off-Road Pro Package, which is available for all
models except the ML63 AMG, the M-Class can
help you explore such remote terrain. It gives
you enhanced traction and off-road ability and,
with the aid of AirMATIC’s Adaptive Damping
System, allows you to raise the ride height by
up to 90 millimetres – resulting in a fording
depth of up to 600 millimetres. (AirMATIC is
standard on the ML450 CDI and ML500 and
optional on other models.) Not only that, it offers
a maximum approach angle of 31° plus traverse
angles of up to 35° and, thanks to the two-stage
transfer case with low-range gearing, it enables
the M-Class to master gradients of up to 100%.
The Off-Road Pro Package even allows you
to switch to manual transmission mode when
stationary or on the move, then select the
appropriate gear via the steer
paddles. It also includes an underguard that
protects your M-Class from loose stones and
sharp rocks – ensuring your M-Class stays in
peak condition whatever terrain you tackle.
Maximum fording depth: 600 mm
Ground clearance: up to 299 mm
Approach angle: up to 31°
