mode retractor which must be used

Failure to use the retractor’s locking
modewillresultinthechildrestraintnot
being properly secured. The restraint
couldtipoverorotherwisebeunsecured
andcauseinjurytothechildinasudden
stoporcollision.Also,itcanchangethe
operationofthefrontpassengerairbag.

INFINITI recommends that child re-
straints be installed in the rear seat.
However, if you must install a front-
facingchildrestraintinthefrontpassen-
gerseat,movethepassengerseattothe
rearmostposition.Also,besurethefront
passengerairbagstatuslightisillumi-
natedtoindicatethepassengerairbag
isOFF.See“Frontpassengerairbagand
status light” later in this section for
details.
