Removetherubberhosefromthe

batterycover.

5. Connectthejumpercablesintheexact

sequenceasintheillustration.

Connectoneendofacabletothe

positiveterminalonthedischarged

battery(1).

Attachtheotherendtothepositive

terminalontheboosterbattery(2).

Connectoneendoftheothercable

tothenegativeterminalofthe

boosterbattery(3).

Connecttheotherendtoasolid,

stationary,exposedmetallicpoint

(forexample,thehoodlatch)away

fromthedischargedbattery(4).

Removethebatterycoverfromitsright

side.

Starttheengineoftheboostervehicle

andrunitafewminutes.Thenstartthe

engineoftheothervehicle.

Whenfinished,carefullydisconnectthe

cablesinthereverseorderdescribedin

theillustration.

Ifthebatterycoverhasbeenremoved,

installitinthereverseorderof

removal.

Makesuretheboosterbatteryis12V

andthatitsnegativeterminalis

grounded.

Iftheboosterbatteryisinanother

vehicle,don'tallowbothvehiclesto

touch.Turnofftheengineofthe

vehiclewiththeboosterbatteryandall

unnecessaryelectricalloadsinboth

vehicles.
