pretensionersystemisalsodeactivatedandthepassengerairbagdeactivationindicator
lightisilluminatedautomaticallywhenthetotalseatedweightonthepassengerseatisless
than30kg(66lb).
NOTE
HavethepassengerairbagdeactivationswitchinspectedbyanAuthorizedMazda
Dealerifanyoftheseconditionsoccur:
TheindicatorlightdoesnotilluminatewhentheignitionswitchisturnedtotheON

position.
TheindicatorlightdoesnotremainonwhentheignitionswitchisintheONposition
l
andthepassengerairbagdeactivationswitchisintheOFFposition.
TheindicatorremainsonwhentheignitionswitchisintheONpositionandthe

passengerairbagdeactivationswitchisintheONposition.
qToDeactivatethePassengerAirBag
Beforedriving,alwaysconfirmthatthepassengerairbagdeactivationswitchisinthe
appropriatepositionaccordingtoyourrequirements(page2-30).
WARNING
DonotleavetheKeyinthePassengerAirBagDeactivationSwitch:
Unintentionaldeactivationofthepassengerairbagisdangerous.Inanaccident,the
passengerwillnotbeproperlyprotected.Seriousinjuriesorevendeathcouldoccur.
Toavoidunintentionaldeactivation,alwaysusethesamekeytooperatethepassenger
airbagdeactivationswitchandtheignitionswitch,thatwayyouwon'tleavethekeyin
thepassengerairbagdeactivationswitch.
