CIRCUITOPERATION
RearWindowIsolationSwitch(X187)
TheRearWindowIsolationSwitch(X187)is
placedinserieswiththegroundsupplytothe
RearWindowDoorSwitches(X188,X189).Ifthe
isolationswitchisopened,thegroundsupplyis
interrupted,preventingrearwindowoperation
usingthereardoorswitches.
Voltageforwindowliftandsunroofoperationis
providedtotheWindowLiftECU(Z147)from
fusesF1andF2.TheWindowLiftECUis
groundedthroughtheBwireatgroundE201.
TimeoutFeature
FuseF15appliesvoltagetotheWindowLiftECU
terminal3whentheignitionswitchison.When
theignitionswitchisturnedoff,theabsenceof
voltageatterminal3signalstheWindowLiftECU
tostartthetimeoutfeature.Whenthetimeout
featureisactivated,theWindowLiftECUwillallow
windowandsunroofoperationforanadditional45
seconds.
Thetimeoutfeaturewillbecancelledifthedriver's
doorisopenedandthenclosed.TheWindowLift
ECUmonitorsthedoor'spositionatterminal7.
FrontWindowOperation
WhenaFrontWindowSwitchisoperated,the
switchgroundsoneoffourWindowLiftECUinput
terminals.ThissignalstheWindowLiftECUto
applyvoltageandgroundtotherespective
windowmotor.Ifthefrontwindowswitchisheldin
thedownpositionformorethan1/2second,the
expressdownfeatureisactivated.TheWindow
LiftECUwilloperatethewindowmotoruntilitis
completelylowered.
RearWindow
TheWindowLiftECUterminalEsuppliesvoltage
totheRearWindowConsoleanddoorswitches
forrearwindowoperation.
Whenawindowconsoleswitchisinthe`DOWN'
position,voltageisappliedtothewindowmotor
throughthe`up'switchcontacts.Thewindow
motorsoperate becausetheyaregrounded
throughthe`down'contactsofthewindow
consoleswitch.Whenaswitchisinthe`UP'
position,thepolarityappliedtothewindowmotor
isreversed,causingthemotortoruninthe
oppositedirectionandthewindowtoclose.
