takeonereading,reversetheleads,andtakea

componentisaffectingthemeasurement.
Circuitsthatcontainsolid-statedevicesshould
onlybetestedwitha10-megohmorhigher
impedancedigitalmultimeter.
Aself-poweredtestlightconsistsofalightbulb,
Batteryandtwoleads. Iftheleadsaretouched
together,thebulbwillgoon.
Aself-poweredtestlightisonlyusedonan
unpoweredcircuit. First,disconnectthebatteryor
removethefusethatfeedsthecircuityouare
workingon. Selecttwopointsalongthecircuit
throughwhichthereshouldbecontinuity.
Connectoneleadoftheself-poweredtestlightto
eachpoint. Ifthereiscontinuity,thetestlight's
circuitwillbecompletedandthebulbwillgoon.
FusedJumperWire
Useafusedjumperwiretobypassanopen
circuit. Afusejumperwireismadeupofan
in-linefuseholderconnectedtoasetoftest
leads. Neveruseajumperwireacrossanyload.
Thisdirectbatteryshortwillblowthefuse.
