CIRCUIT OPERATION
StartingSystem
PuttingtheIgnitionSwitch(X134)inpositionIII
appliesbatteryvoltagetotheStarterSolenoid
Relay(K137). TheStarterSolenoidRelay(K137)
energizesandappliesbatteryvoltagetothe
StarterSolenoid(K136)andStarter(M134).
Onmanualtransmissionvehiclesequippedwitha
theftalarm,theTheftAlarmUnit(Z163)providesa
groundcircuittotheStarterSolenoidRelay's
(K137)86terminal.
Onautomatictransmissionvehiclesequippedwith
atheftalarm,theTheftAlarmUnit(Z163)provides
agroundcircuittotheStarterSolenoidRelay's
(K137)86terminalviathePark/NeutralPosition
Switch(X167).
Ifthetheftalarmisactivated,theTheftAlarmUnit
(Z163)willinterrupttheStarterSolenoidRelay's
(K137)groundpathandpreventstartingthe
engine.
