Ifyourvehiclehasbeenparkedwiththewindowsclosedduringwarm
weatherconditions,theairconditionerwillperformmoreefficientlyin
coolingthevehicleifdrivenfortwoorthreeminuteswiththe
windowsopen.Thiswillforcemostofthehot,staleairoutofthe
vehicle.Oncethevehiclehasbeen“airedout”,operatetheclimate
controlsystemasdesired.

Donotplaceobjectsunderthefrontseatthatwillinterferewiththe
airflowtotherearseats.
Removeanysnow,iceorleavesfromtheairintakeareaatthebaseof
thewindshield.
Donotplaceobjectsoverthedefrosteroutlets.Theseobjectscan
blockairflowandreduceyourabilitytoseethroughyourwindshield.
Avoidplacingsmallobjectsontopoftheinstrumentpanel.These
objectsmayfalldownintothedefrosteroutletsandblockairflow,in
additiontodamagingtheclimatecontrolsystem.
Donotplaceobjectsontopoftheinstrumentpanel,asthese
objectsmaybecomeprojectilesinacollisionorsuddenstop.
REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER
Thereardefrostercontrolislocated
ontheinstrumentpanel.
Pressthereardefrostercontrolto
cleartherearwindowofthinice
andfog.

AsmallLEDwillilluminatewhen
thereardefrosterisactivated.
TheignitionmustbeintheONpositiontooperatetherearwindow
defroster.
Thedefrosterturnsoffautomaticallyafter10minutesorwhenthe
ignitionisturnedtotheOFFposition.Tomanuallyturnoffthedefroster
before10minuteshavepassed,pushthecontrolagain.
Activatingtherearwindowdefrosterwillalsoactivatetheheatedmirrors
(ifequipped).FormoreinformationrefertoHeatedoutsidemirrorsin
theDrivercontrolschapter.
