procedureshelpreducetheriskof
injuriesrelatedtothedeploymentof
sideairbags.
Thesideairbagsystemconsistsof
thefollowing:

Aninflatablenylonbag(airbag)
withagasgeneratorconcealed
behindtheoutboardbolsterof
thedriverandfrontpassenger
seatbacks.

Aspecialseatcoverdesignedtoallowairbagdeployment.
Thesamewarninglight,electroniccontrolanddiagnosticunitasused
forthefrontairbags.

Twopressuresensorslocatedinthefrontdoors.
Twocrashsensorslocatedbetweenthe“A”and“B”pillars.
Sideairbags,incombinationwithsafetybelts,canhelpreducetheriskof
severeinjuriesintheeventofasignificantsideimpactcollision.
Thesideairbagsarefittedontheoutboardsideoftheseatbacksofthe
frontseats.Incertainlateralcollisions,theairbagonthesideaffectedby
thecollisionwillbeinflated.Thefrontpassengersensingsystemwill
turnoffthepassengerseatsideairbagiftheseatisempty(unlessfor
somereasonthesafetybeltisproperlybuckled).Theairbagwas
