Depressthebrakepedalandthenfirmly
pulltheparkingbrakeleverfullyupwards
withagreateramountofforcethanis
requiredsothatthevehicleholdsinthe
stationaryposition.
WARNING
Beforeleavingthedriver'sseat,always
putthekeytoLOCKposition,setthe
parkingbrakeandmakesuretheshift
leverisinPwithanautomatic
transaxleorin1orRwithamanual
transaxle:
Intentionallyplacingthekeyinto
LOCKpositionismuchmore
importantwhereyouwillnotbe
removingthekeytoleavethevehicle
andbecauseleavingitinother
positionswilldisablesomeofthe
vehiclesecuritysystemsandrunthe
batterydown.
Leavingthedriver'sseatwithout
puttingtheignitionswitchinLOCK
position,settingtheparkingbrake
andtheshiftleverisinPwithan
automatictransaxleorin1orRwith
amanualtransaxleisdangerous.
Unexpectedvehiclemovementcould
occur.Thiscouldcauseanaccident.
Releasingtheparkingbrake
Depressthebrakepedalandpullthe
parkingbrakeleverupwards,thenpress
thereleasebutton.Whileholdingthe
button,lowertheparkingbrakeleverall
thewaydowntothereleasedposition.
CAUTION
Drivingwiththeparkingbrakeon
willcauseexcessivewearofthebrake
liningsorpads.
NOTE

(page4-9)regardingparkingbrakeuse.
