Ifyoumustruntheenginewhileworkingunderthehood,makecertainthatyou
removealljewelry(especiallyrings,bracelets,watches,andnecklaces)andall
neckties,scarves,andsimilarlooseclothingbeforegettingneartheengineorcooling
fanwhichmayturnonunexpectedly:
Workingunderthehoodwiththeenginerunningisdangerous.Itbecomeseven
moredangerouswhenyouwearjewelryorlooseclothing.
Eithercanbecomeentangledinmovingpartsandresultininjury.
Turnofftheignitionswitchandmakesurethefanisnotrunningbeforeattempting
toworknearthecoolingfan:
Workingnearthecoolingfanwhenitisrunningisdangerous.Thefancould
continuerunningindefinitelyeveniftheenginehasstoppedandtheengine
compartmenttemperatureishigh.Youcouldbehitbythefanandseriouslyinjured.
