Duringemergencybrakingsituations
whenitisnecessarytodepressthebrake
pedalwithgreaterforce,thebrakeassist
systemprovidesbrakingassistance,thus
enhancingbrakingperformance.
Depresstheclutchpedalallthewaydown
whileshifting;thenreleaseitslowly.
Asafetyfeaturepreventsaccidental
shiftingfrom5toR(reverse).Theshift
levermustbeputinneutralbeforebeing
shiftedtoR.
Whenthebrakepedalisdepressedhardor
depressedmorequickly,thebrakesapply
morefirmly.
NOTE
Whenthebrakepedalisdepressedhardor

softerbutthebrakeswillapplymorefirmly.
Thisisanormaleffectofthebrakeassist
operationanddoesnotindicatean
abnormality.
Whenthebrakepedalisdepressedhardor

fromthebrakeboostermaybeheard.This
isanormaleffectofthebrakeassistand
doesnotindicateanabnormality.
Thebrakeassistequipmentdoesnot

supersedethefunctionalityofthevehicle's
