Tochangetheseatbackangle,lean
forwardslightlywhileraisingthelever.
Thenleanbacktothedesiredpositionand
releasethelever.
Ifyourvehicleisequippedwithfront
passengerseatweightsensors,
sittinginthefrontpassengerseat
improperlyoutofpositionorwiththe
seatbackreclinedtoofarwhilethe
vehicleismovingisdangerousasit
cantakeoffweightfromtheseat
bottomandaffecttheweight
determinationofthefrontpassenger
sensingsystem.Asaresultthefront
passengerwillnothavethe
supplementaryprotectionoftheair
bagandseatbeltpretensioner,which
couldcauseresultinseriousinjury.
Alwayssituprightagainstyour
seatback,withyourfeetonthefloor.
Makesuretheleverreturnstoitsoriginal
positionandtheseatbackislockedin
placebyattemptingtopushitforwardand
backward.
Donotdrivewiththeseatback
unlocked:
CAUTION
Whenreturningarear-reclined
seatbacktoitsuprightposition,
makesureyouholdontothe
seatbackwithyourotherhandwhile
operatingthelever.Iftheseatbackis
notsupported,itwillflipforward
suddenlyandcouldcauseinjury.
Theseatbackplaysanimportantrole
inyourprotectioninavehicle.
Leavingtheseatbackunlockedis
dangerousasitcanallowpassengers
tobeejectedorthrownaroundand
baggagetostrikeoccupantsina
suddenstoporcollision,resultingin
severeinjury.Afteradjustingthe
seatbackatanytime,evenwhen
therearenootherpassengers,rock
theseatbacktomakesureitislocked
inplace.
