switch.
Atriggeredalarmcanbeturnedoffby
anyoneofthefollowingmethods:
Unlockadoorwiththekey.
Presstheunlockbuttononthekeyless
entrysystemtransmitter.

Makesurethehoodisclosed.Close
andlockalldoorsandtheliftgatefrom
theoutsideusingthekeyorpressthe
lockbuttononyourkeylessentry
systemtransmitter.

NOTE
Ifyouhaveanyproblemwiththetheft-
deterrentsystem,consultanAuthorizedMazda
Dealer.
Thefollowingmethodwillalsoarmthe
theft-deterrentsystem:
Closethehoodandtheliftgate.Press
theareaonthedoor-lockswitch
marked“LOCK”once.Closealldoors.
qModificationandAdd-On
Equipment
Mazdacannotguaranteethetheft-
deterrentsystem'soperationifthesystem
hasbeenmodifiedorifanyadd-on
equipmenthasbeeninstalledtoit.
Thehazardwarninglightswillflashonce
toindicatethatthesystemisarmed.
Thetheftdeterrentsystemcanalsobe
armedbyactivatingtheautore-lock
functionwithallthedoors,theliftgateand
thehoodclosed.
CAUTION
Toavoiddamagetoyourvehicle,do
notmodifythesystemorinstallany
add-onequipmenttothetheft-
deterrentsystemorthevehicle.
NOTE
Lockingthedoorswiththeinsidedoor-lock
knobwillnotarmthesystem.
NOTE
Autore-lockfunction
qTheft-DeterrentLabels
Afterunlockingwiththetransmitter,alldoors
andtheliftgatewillautomaticallylockifone
ofthedoorsortheliftgateisnotopenedwithin
about30seconds.
qToTurnoffanArmedSystem
Anarmedsystemcanbeturnedoffbyany
oneofthefollowingmethods:
Unlockadoorwiththekey.

Presstheunlockbuttononthekeyless
l
entrysystemtransmitter.
Insertthekeyintotheignitionswitch
andturnittotheONposition.
l
Alabelindicatingthatyourvehicleis
equippedwithaTheft-DeterrentSystemis
intheglovebox.
Thehazardwarninglightswillflashtwice
toindicatethatthesystemisturnedoff.
