WHAT TO DO IN EMERGENCIES
Spare Tire Rem oval
WARN ING!
Lift up the cover and fit the jack-hand le over the drive
nu t. Rotate the nu t to the left until you can rem ove the
swivel hook from the stow age basket. Swing the basket
down to rem ove the compact spare tire.
Do not attem pt to change a tire on the sid e of the
veh icle close to movin g traffic. Pull far enough off
the road to avoid the danger of bein g hit when
operatin g the jack or changin g the wheel.
CAUTIO N!
The hook is design ed for use with the jack handle
only. Use of an air wren ch or oth er power tools is not
recom mended and can damage the winch.

Turn on the Hazard Warning Flasher.
Block both the front and rear
of the wheel diagonally oppo-
site the jacking position. For
exam ple, if changing the right
front tire, block the left rear
wheel.

PREPARATIONS FOR JACKING
Park the vehicle on a firm level surface, avoid ice or
slippery areas, set the park ing brak e and place the gear
selector in PARK (autom atic transaxle) or REVERSE
(manu al transaxle). Turn OFF the ignition.
•
Passengers shou ld not rem ain in the vehicle while the
vehicle is being jacked .
