Caringforyourtyres
Alwaysdrivewithconsiderationforthe
conditionofthetyresandfrequentlyinspect
thetreadandsidewallsforsignsofdistortion
ordamage(inparticular,lookforlumps,cuts
andbulges).
Treaddepthmustbecheckedregularly(at
everymaintenanceservice,ormore
frequently).Alwaysreplaceatyrebeforethe
treadreachesaremainingdepthof1.6mm.
DONOTdrivewithtyresworntothislimit;the
safetyofthevehicleanditsoccupantswillbe
adverselyaffected.
Tyrepressures
Tyrepressuresshouldbecheckedatleast
onceaweekwithnormalroaduse,butshould
becheckedDAILYifthevehicleisused
off-road.
NOTE:Afteroff-roaduse,checktomakesure
therearenolumpsorbulgesinthetyresor
exposureoftheplyorcordstructure.
Checkthepressures,includingthespare,
whenthetyresarecold(airpressurenaturally
increasesinwarmtyres).Therecommended
pressuresaregiveninthe’Generaldata’
section.
Valvecaps
Keepthevalvecapsscreweddownfirmlyto
preventdirtfromenteringthevalve.

Ifthevehiclehasbeenparkedinstrong
sunlightorisusedinhighambient
temperatures,DONOTreducetyre
pressures;instead,movethevehicleinto
shadeandallowthetyrestocoolbefore
checking.
