IMPORTANTINFORMATION
Beforestartingtheengine,ensurethatthe
handbrakeisappliedandthegearleverisin
neutral.
Iftheclutchisengagedbeforethe
transferbetweenhighandlowgearsis
complete,a’clunk’orgrindingsoundwill
beheardandtheindicatorlightinthe
switchwillcontinuetoflash.Ifthis
occurs,depresstheclutch,selectneutral
andattemptthechangeagain.
WARNING
Manualtransmissionvehiclescanbestarted
withtheclutchengagedandthevehiclein
gear.ThispractiseisNOTrecommended-
onlystartthevehiclewiththegearleverin
neutral.

Ifthevehicleismovingwhena
transfergearchangeisattempted,
themessagecentrewilldisplay
’SLOWDOWN’.
•
Ifthe’Hi/Lo’switchispressedwhen
thegearleverisinanyposition
otherthanneutral,’SELECT
Emergencytowing
Ifitisnecessaryforthevehicletobetowedon
allfourwheels,transferneutralMUSTbe
selected.(See’Emergencytowing’).
NEUTRAL’willappearinthedisplay.
Clutch
DONOTusetheclutchpedalasafootrest.To
preventunnecessarywear,alwayskeepthe
leftfootwellclearoftheclutchpedalexcept
whenchanginggear.
NOTE:Afootrestisconvenientlypositioned
totheleftoftheclutch.
