Locking and unlocking
Closing the trunk lid
̈ Push the trunk lid down gently at the
extending handle 2 until it engages
into the lock.

The trunk lid swings open upwards au-
tomatically. Always make sure that
there is sufficient overhead clearance.
The extending handle 2 is retracted
after a few seconds.

If the trunk lid does not open, it is still
locked separately (if applicable)
The power closing assist automatically en-
sures that the lid is pulled closed com-
pletely (୴ page 106).

If the vehicle was previously centrally
locked, the trunk lid will lock automati-
cally when closed (୴ page 98). The
turn signals will flash three times to
confirm locking.

Handle
To prevent possible personal injury, always
keep hands and fingers away from the trunk
lid opening when closing the trunk. Be espe-
cially careful when small children are
around.
̈ Lower trunk lid by pulling firmly on
handle 1.
The trunk can also be opened using the
SmartKey (୴ page 90) or from its inside in
an emergency, see “Trunk lid emergency
release” (୴ page 104).
