Depress brake pedal.
̈ Place the gear selector lever in
position P.
Make sure the gearshift lever is in
neutral position (no gear selected).
̈ Do not depress the accelerator.
̈
Fully depress clutch pedal.
̈ Turn the SmartKey in the starter switch
to position 3 (୴ page 33) and release it
again immediately. The engine then
starts automatically.
Otherwise the engine cannot be
started due to the integrated safety
interlock.

Gearshift pattern for automatic
transmission
Turn the SmartKey in the starter switch
to position 3 (୴ page 33) and hold until
the engine starts.
P Park position with gear selector lever
lock
R Reverse gear
N Neutral position
D Drive position
