Tires degrade over time, even when
theyarenotbeingused.Regardless
of the remaining tread, it is recom-
mended that tires generally be re-
placed after six (6) years of normal
service. Heatcausedbyhotclimates
or frequent high loading conditions
can accelerate the aging process.
Failure to follow this warning can
result in sudden tire failure, which
couldleadtoalossofcontrolandan
accident involving serious injury or
death.
o Aluminium wheels which are not
supplied as Original Equipment
should not be mixed on the same
vehicle with the original steel
wheels.However,itisacceptable
thatthesteelsparewheelbeused
inconjunctionwithOriginalEquip-
mentaluminiumwheelssincethe
offset of both wheels is compat-
ible. Radial and cross ply tyres
should not be mixed on the same
vehicle.

Tyresmustbereplacedwhenthewear
indicatorsappearasasolidbaracross
thetyretread.Atthispoint,theremain-
ing tread depth will be approximately
0.06in.(1.6mm).Inadditiontothis,the
tyre must be replaced if any portion of
thetreadhasbecomebaldorifthereare
any lumps, bulges or deep cuts in the
sidewalls or tread.
Replacement tyres must be of the rec-
ommended size and rating and should
be of the same manufacture and tread
pattern on each axle.

TYRE BALANCING
Incorrecttyrebalancewillcausesteer-
ingvibrationanduneventyrewear.The
vehicle tyres are balanced during pro-
ductionbutmayneedfurtherbalancing
throughout the life of the tyres.
It is recommended that the tyres be
balancedonthecarforbestresultsand
that the tyres are balanced whenever
theyhavebeenremovedfromthewheel
forrepair.
