NOTE:
Fuel Filter Warning
Light-Red(DieselEngine)
Iftheredenginetemperatureindica-
torilluminates,itindicatesoverheat-
ing that may damage the engine.
Theseindicatorsshowthetemperature
of the engine coolant when the ignition
switch is ON. Red indicator illuminates
ifthetemperatureoftheenginecoolant
isabove120±3°C(248±5.5°F).
Blue indicator  Illuminates if  the tem-
peratureoftheenginecoolantisbelow
60±3°C(140±5.5°F).
Iftheredindicatorilluminates,pullover
and stop as soon as possible and turn
offtheengine.Thenopenthehoodand
check  the coolant  level (See  "If  the
engineoverheats"onthepage3-4.)and
the water pump drive belt. If you sus-
pectcoolingsystemtrouble,haveyour
cooling system checked by a Hyundai
dealer as soon as possible.
This light illuminates when the ignition
switch is set to the "ON" position and
goes off after the engine has started. If
it lights up while the engine is running,
it  indicates that  water  has  accumu-
lated inside the  fuel filter. If this hap-
pens, remove the water from the fuel
filter. (Refer to "6-28 page")

ACOUSTIC WARNING SOUND
(If Installed)
Theacousticwarningchimesoundswhen
thetaillightsareonandthedoorindriver
side is open. This prevents the battery
fromdischargingwhenthecarisleftwith
thetaillightson.Thechimesoundsuntil
the tail lights are turned off.

BRAKE PAD  WEAR  WARNING
SOUND

WARNING:
Type B
The front disc brake  pads have wear
indicators  that should  make  a high-
pitched  squealing or  scraping  noise
whennewpadsareneeded.Thesound
may come and go or be heard all the
time  when the  vehicle  is  moving. It
may  also be  heard  when the  brake
pedal is  pushed down firmly.  Exces-
siverotordamagewillresultiftheworn
pads  are   not  replaced.   See   your
Hyundai dealer immediately.
Neverremovetheradiatorcapwhen
the engine is hot. The engine cool-
ant  is  under  pressure  and could
erupt and cause severe burns. Wait
until the  engine is  cool before re-
moving the radiator cap.
Theindicatorshowsthetemperatureof
the engine  coolant when the  ignition
switch is ON.
Theredindicatorilluminatesifthetem-
peratureoftheenginecoolantisabove
117±3°C(240±5.5°F).
Do not continue driving with  an over-
heated engine.  If  your vehicle  over-
heats, refer to “Overheating” in the In-
dex.
