featuregivesyourvehiclesomelimitedoff-roadcapabilitiesinwhich
drivingsurfacesarerelativelylevel,obstruction-freeandotherwise
similartonormalon-roaddrivingconditions.Operatingyourvehicle
underotherthanthoseconditionscouldsubjectthevehicletoexcessive
stresswhichmightresultindamagewhichisnotcoveredunderyour

Driving on slippery surfaces with AWD vehicles
AWDvehiclesarespeciallyequippedfordrivingonsand,snow,mudand
roughroadsandhaveoperatingcharacteristicsthataresomewhat
differentfromconventionalvehicles,bothonandoffthehighway.
Whendrivingatslowspeedsoff-highwayunderhighoutside
temperatures,usealowgearor(L)whenpossible.L(Low)gear
operationwillmaximizetheengineandtransmissioncoolingcapability.
Undersevereoperatingconditions,theA/Cmaycycleonandoffto
protectoverheatingoftheengine.

Driveslowerinstrongcrosswindswhichcanaffectthenormalsteering
characteristicsofyourvehicle.

Beextremelycarefulwhendrivingonpavementmadeslipperyby
loosesand,water,gravel,snoworice.
Ifyourvehiclegoesofftheedgeofthepavement

Ifyourvehiclegoesofftheedgeofthepavement,slowdown,but
avoidseverebrakeapplication,easethevehiclebackontothe
pavementonlyafterreducingyourspeed.Donotturnthesteering
wheeltoosharplywhilereturningtotheroadsurface.
Itmaybesafertostayontheapronorshoulderoftheroadandslow
downgraduallybeforereturningtothepavement.Youmaylose
controlifyoudonotslowdownorifyouturnthesteeringwheeltoo
sharplyorabruptly.
