Turnthekeyto5(start),then
releasethekeyassoonasthe
enginestarts.Excessivecrankingcoulddamagethestarter.
Note:Iftheenginedoesnotstartwithinfivesecondsonthefirsttry,
turnthekeytooff,wait10secondsandtryagain.Iftheenginestillfails
tostart,presstheacceleratortothefloorandtryagain;thiswillallow
theenginetocrankwiththefuelshutoffincasetheengineisflooded
withfuel.
Guarding against exhaust fumes
Carbonmonoxideispresentinexhaustfumes.Takeprecautionstoavoid
itsdangerouseffects.
WARNING:Ifyousmellexhaustfumesinsideyourvehicle,have
yourdealerinspectyourvehicleimmediately.Donotdriveifyou
smellexhaustfumes.
Important ventilating information
Iftheengineisidlingwhilethevehicleisstoppedforalongperiodof
time,openthewindowsatleastoneinch(2.5cm)oradjusttheheating
orairconditioningtobringinfreshair.
ENGINE BLOCK HEATER (IF EQUIPPED)
Anengineblockheaterwarmstheenginecoolantwhichaidsinstarting
andallowstheheater/defrostersystemtorespondquickly.Ifyourvehicle
isequippedwiththissystem,yourequipmentincludesaheaterelement
whichisinstalledinyourengineblockandawireharnesswhichallows
theusertoconnectthesystemtoagrounded120volta/celectrical
source.Theblockheatersystemismosteffectivewhenoutdoor
temperaturesreachbelow0°F(-18°C).
