Petrol engines
Powerful and yet easy on the environment, the S-Class petrol engines still boast impressive outputs, but use less fuel and emit less CO2.
In addition, they meet the strict EU5 regulations on exhaust emissions.
V6 petrol engine. The S350’s V6 petrol engine
is built using lightweight materials and
to the combustion process, it achieves lower
fuel consumption and emissions and yet
still produces 272hp (200kW) and 350Nm
of torque.
V12 petrol engine. With its intercooled twin
turbochargers and 60‑degree V12 layout, the
S600’s innovative engine offers superlative
performance, exceptional refinement and
a sublime sound. It has a maximum output of
517hp (380kW), delivers a spectacular 830Nm
of torque from 1,800rpm and accelerates from
0 to 62mph in just 4.6 seconds.

camshaft control. Thanks to modifications
V8 petrol engine. Refined, effortless power is
the hallmark of the S500’s V8 petrol engine.
The optimised air intake, 32 valves and light‑
weight materials such as magnesium, a
metal commonly used in racing vehicles, help
to cut fuel consumption and emissions.
The 388hp (285kW) and 530Nm of torque
ensure outstanding responses.
