USING MEDIA PLAYER
SETTING UP XM RADIO
To listen to the radio and play audio files from a connected device (see
page 18), touch the Media icon.
XM radio is a subscription-based satellite radio service available to you if
your Model S is equipped with the Sound Studio package*. To subscribe
to XM radio, you need to provide the radio ID for your touchscreen. To
view the radio ID, select the XM radio source and tune it to channel 0. The
Radio ID displays on the screen.

*NOTE: Sirius XM satellite radio service is not available in Hawaii,Alaska or any location outside of
the United States.
PLAYING AUDIO FILES FROM DEVICES
If you exit Model S when playing Media Player, when you open any door
to re-enter, Media Player resumes playing where it left off. At first, the
volume is low. But when you get in and close the driver’s door, the volume
resumes to the previously set level. When you open the driver’s door to
exit, the volume is reduced again. When you leave Model S, Media Player
stops playing, and the touchscreen and instrument panel turn off.
Plug a  portable audio device or flash drive into either of the USB connections
located on the front of the center console. On the touchscreen, touch
MEDIA > BROWSE > MY MUSIC & DEVICES. The contents of your device
are displayed.
To play audio files from your Bluetooth connected device, touch the
name of your device from the My Music & Devices list. Use your device
to change the track and/or use the left steering wheel controls to play the
next or previous track.
MEDIA PLAYER CONTROLS
In addition to the touchscreen, you can control the Media player using the
left steering wheel controls:
ADDING AND REMOVING FAVORITES
Scroll the wheel up or down to adjust volume.
From the Now Playing screen that displays whenever you
play audio, touch the Favorites icon to add the song or station
to your Favorites list. A blue icon indicates that it has been
added to your Favorites. Touching the icon again removes it
from your Favorites.
Press and release the scroll wheel to mute/unmute a radio station or
pause/play an audio file.
Press the Previous and Next buttons to find radio stations. If an
audio file is playing, this plays the previous or next file in the
currently active folder, category, or playlist.
To play a Favorite audio file or radio station, touch BROWSE > FAVORITES.
To remove a Favorite, touch the corresponding X.
USING INTERNET RADIO
If you’re playing a radio station when you touch the Favorites icon, the
station is assigned to one of the preset buttons if an empty slot is available.
You can also assign a radio station to a preset button by touching and
holding the preset button you want to assign.You can store up to six
presets for each radio source.
If your Model S is equipped with the Connectivity package, internet radio
services* (such as Slacker and TuneIn) have been set up for you and can
be selected using Media Player.
*NOTE: Internet radio services that are available vary based on country.
