JACKING OR LIFTING
Follow the steps below to lift Model S. Ensure that any non-Tesla repair
facility is aware of these lifting points.

Position Model S centrally between the lift posts.

If Model S is equipped with Active Air Suspension, it automatically
self-levels, even when power is off.YOU MUST use the touchscreen as
follows to disable it:
•
Touch CONTROLS on the bottom left corner of the
touchscreen.
•

Press the brake pedal, then touch VERY HIGH to raise
the suspension to its maximum height.*
Touch JACK** to disable self leveling.

JACK mode automatically cancels if you drive over 4.5 mph (7 km/h).

Position the lift arm pads under the body rails at the locations illustrated
on this page. DO NOT position the lift arm pads under the Battery.
Adjust the height and position of the lift arm pads to ensure they are
correctly located.
With assistance, raise the lift, ensuring the lift arm pads remain in their
correct position.
DO NOT LIFT FROM UNDER THE BATTERY!
DOING SO CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
WARNINGS:
If your Model S has Active Air Suspension, it automatically self-levels even when power
is off.You MUST disable this system by engaging JACK mode before lifting. If you do
not disable Active Air Suspension, Model S can attempt to self-level, causing serious
damage, bodily injury, or death.
CAUTIONS:
Place the lift pads under the body rails—DO NOT lift from under the Battery. The
locations illustrated are the only approved lifting points for Model S. Lifting at any other
points can cause damage not covered by the warranty.
Never raise Model S when the charging cable is connected, even if charging is not in
progress.
Use a suitable rubber or wood pad to protect the body from surface damage.
Do not work on an incorrectly supported vehicle. Doing so can cause serious damage,
bodily injury, or death.
