General Operation

open when driving.

on / off
Pressthebutton toswitchthepower
on. To switch the power off, press the
buttonagain.
o Pleaseinserttheportablepanelin
the accompanying protective
Coverafterremoval.

Inserting portable panel
Turn volume control to right / left. The
volumeisincreasedordecreased.The
current volume level is shown on the
display.
Insert the portable panel so that it en-
gages first in the lower left catch and
then in the lower right. Then press the
portable panel into the upper catches.
Orpositionportablepaneldirectlyover
all four catches and press in firmly to
engage.Forproperfunctioning,ensure
that the portable panel is firmly en-
gaged in all four catches.

Remove portable panel

Mute function
As an effective anti-theft device, the
portable panel can be removed from
unit. For this purpose, press and hold
button. The display has been folded
down.
The unit can be switched to mute in
each operation mode by pressing the
volume control. MUTE appears on the
display.
Themutefunctioniscancelledbypress-
ing the volume control, changing the
operationmode,changingthewaveband
or inserting a CD.
After 20 seconds an audible signal
indicatesthatthecontrolcomponentis
folded down. The unit is switched to
mute.
The unit switches off after a further 10
seconds.
