Youarerequiredbylawtouseachild-restraintsystemforchildrenintheU.S.andCanada.
Checkyourlocalandstateorprovinciallawsforspecificrequirementsregardingthesafety
ofchildrenridinginyourvehicle.
Whateverchild-restraintsystemyouconsider,pleasepicktheappropriateonefortheage
andsizeofthechild,obeythelawandfollowtheinstructionsthatcomewiththeindividual
child-restraintsystem.
Achildwhohasoutgrownchild-restraintsystemsshoulduseseatbelts,bothlapand
shoulder.Iftheshoulderbeltcrossestheneckorface,movethechildclosertothecenterof
thevehicle.
Arear-facingchild-restraintsystemshouldNEVERbeusedinthefrontseatwiththeair
bagsystemactivated.
WehaveinstalledlowerLATCHanchorpointsforLATCHstyleboosterseatsandinfant
carriersthatworkwithouttethersonly.Anyotherchild-restraintsystemthathasanupper
tethercannotbeusedinthisvehiclebecausethereisnotetheranchor.Donottrytoconnect
atether,theseatandheadrestraintcombinationallowsyoumaximumadultspacebutany
attempttoinstallatetherpointwillresultintoomuchslackinanaccidentoraveryskewed
childseatlocationandposeaseriousriskofinjuryordeathtoyourchild.Usetheseatbelts
toproperlysecurethenon-tetheredchild-restraintsystemsotherthantheLATCHbooster
seatsandnon-tetheredinfantcarriers.Turnoffthepassengerairbagdeactivationswitch.
ToexposeandusethelowerLATCHanchorpoints,whichareaffixedtothebodyandnot
theseat,slidetheseatallthewayrearwardwhichistheoptimalvehicleseatpositionforall
childreninthistwoseatcar.
Wehaveprovidedadeactivationswitchthatwilldisablepassengerairbaginflation.Donot
switchoffthepassengerairbagwithoutreadingthe“PassengerAirBagDeactivation
Switch”(page2-23).
