havereplaceablehalogenbulbs.
3. Turnthesocketandbulbassembly
counterclockwiseandremoveitwhile
holdingtherubbersocketcoverin
place.Carefullyremovetheheadlight
bulbfromitssocketinthereflectorby
gentlypullingitstraightbackwardout
ofthesocket.
WARNING
HandlingHalogenBulbs:
Whenahalogenbulbbreaks,itis
dangerous.Thesebulbscontain
pressurizedgas.Ifoneisbroken,it
willexplodeandseriousinjuriescould
becausedbytheflyingglass.
4.
Disconnectthebulbfromtheelectrical
connectorbypressingthetabonthe
connectorwithyourfingerandpulling
thebulbupward.
Iftheglassportionistouchedwith
barehands,bodyoilcouldcausethe
bulbtooverheatandexplodewhenlit.
Nevertouchtheglassportionofthe
bulbwithyourbarehandsandalways
weareyeprotectionwhenhandlingor
workingaroundhalogenbulbs.
High beam bulb
ChildrenandHalogenBulbs:
Playingwithahalogenbulbis
dangerous.Seriousinjuriescouldbe
causedbydroppingahalogenbulbor
breakingitsomeotherway.
Low beam bulb
5. Installthenewbulbinthereverseorder
ofremoval.
Alwayskeephalogenbulbsoutofthe
reachofchildren.
NOTE
qReplacingExteriorLightBulbs
Usetheprotectivecoverandcartonfor
thereplacementbulbtodisposeofthe
oldbulbpromptlyandoutofthereach
ofchildren.
Replacingaheadlightbulb
1.
Makesuretheignitionswitchisturned
offandtheheadlightswitchisoff.
2.
Liftthehoodandfindthehighandlow
beambulbsintherearoftheheadlight
unit.
TheoutboardbulbistheLOWbeam,
andtheinboardoneistheHIGHbeam.
RefertoLightBulbs(page8-33).

Duetothecomplexityanddifficultyof
theprocedure,thebulbsshouldbe
replacedbyanAuthorizedMazdaDealer.
