PARKINGBRAKE
To set the parking brake, pull the lever up as firmly as
possible. When the parking brake is applied with the
ignitionON,theBRAKEwarninglightintheinstrument
clusterwilllight.
Toactivatethesystem,presstheswitchoncetolockthe
rear axle only (the REAR LOCK indicator light will
illuminate),presstheswitchagaintolockthefrontaxle
(theFRONTLOCKindicatorlightwillilluminate).Once
therearaxleislocked,pressingtheswitchagainwilllock
orunlockthefrontaxle.
NOTE: The BRAKE warning light indicates only that
the parking brake is applied. It does not indicate the
degreeofbrakeapplication.
NOTE: Theindicatorlightswillflashuntiltheaxlesare
fullylockedorunlocked.Achimewillsoundthreetimes
and the indicator lights will continue to flash at a
differentrateifthekeyisremovedwhiletheaxlesarestill
inthelockedposition.
NOTE: Iftheparkingbrakeisappliedandthevehicleis
in motion, the BRAKE warning light will flash and a
chimewillsound.
Toreleasetheparkingbrake,pullupslightly,presscenter
button,thenlowerlevercompletely.
Tounlocktheaxles,pullupontheswitch.
Axle lock will disengage if vehicle is taken out of 4L
(Low)range.
