Airbagsinflateinmoderatetohighspeedimpacts.Along
with the seat belts, front airbags work with the instru-
mentpanelkneebolsterstoprovideimprovedprotection
forthedriverandfrontpassenger.
NEVERrideinthefrontseatofavehiclewithapassen-
gerfrontairbag,unlesstheairbagisturnedoff.Anairbag
deploymentcancausesevereinjuryordeathtoinfantsin
thisposition.
Theseatbeltsaredesignedtoprotectyouinmanytypes
of collisions. The front airbags deploy in moderate to
severefrontalcollisions.Butevenincollisionswherethe
airbagswork,youneedtheseatbeltstokeepyouinthe
rightpositionfortheairbagstoprotectyouproperly.
Children that are not big enough to properly wear the
vehicle seat belt (Refer to “Child Restraint” in this
section.) should be secured in the rear seat, in a child
restraintorbelt-positioningboosterseat.Olderchildren
who do not use child restraints or belt-positioning
boosterseatsshouldrideproperlybuckledupintherear
seat. Never allow children to slide the shoulder belt
behindthemorundertheirarm.

riskofharmfromadeployingairbag.

passengerseatbecausethevehicleiscrowded,movethe
seat as far back as possible, and use the proper child

drenupto20lbs(9kg)andatleastoneyearold)should
