TheORCalsomonitorsthereadinessoftheelectronic
partsofthesystemwhenevertheignitionswitchisin

itemslistedaboveexceptthekneebolster,theinstru-
mentpanel,andthesteeringwheelandcolumn.Ifthe
ignitionkeyisintheOFForACCposition,ornotin
theignition,theairbagsarenotonandwillnotinflate.

Also,theORCturnsonthe“AirbagWarningLight”in
the instrument panel for 6 to 8 seconds when the
ignitionisfirstturnedon,thenturnsthelightoff.Ifit
detectsamalfunctioninanypartofthesystem,itturns
