The Anti-Lock Brake System pump motor runs during
the self-test and during an ABS stop to provide the
regulatedhydraulicpressure.Themotorpumpmakesa
lowhummingnoiseduringoperation,thisisnormal.

• ralAnti-locklawsofsystemphysics(ABS)fromactingcannotonpreventthevehicle,the natu-nor
can it increase braking or steering efficiency be-
yondthataffordedbytheconditionofthevehicle
brakesandtiresorthetractionafforded.
During off-road use, loss of traction can temporarily
defeatthesystemandcausethewarninglighttoillumi-
nate. Turn the ignition OFF and ON again to restore
Anti-LockBrakeSystemfunction.

The ABS cannot prevent accidents, including
those resulting from excessive speed in turns,
following another vehicle too closely, or hydro-
planing.Onlyasafe,attentive,andskillfuldriver
canpreventaccidents.
WARNING!
Pumping of the Anti-Lock Brakes will diminish
their effectiveness and may lead to an accident.
Pumping makes the stopping distance longer. Just
pressfirmlyonyourbrakepedalwhenyouneedto
slowdownorstop.
