With the selector lever in this position,
reverse gear will be engaged. The en-
gine may not be started with the selec-
tor lever in this position.
With the selector lever in this position,
no drive is transmitted from the engine
and the transaxle output and therefore
the front wheels locked. The engine
maybestartedwiththeselectorleverin
this position.
The indicator lights in the instrument
clusterindicatetheselectorleverposi-
tionwhentheignitionisswitched"ON".
During "D" or sports mode operation,
thegearcurrentlyinusedisplaysinthe
numeral indicator.

vehicle is in motion.
