Locking From the Outside
o To help prevent theft, always re-
move the ignition key, close all
windows, and lock all doors and

Thedoorscanbelockedwithoutakey.
Tolockthedoorsfromtheoutside,first
push the inside lock switch to the
"LOCK" position, so that the red mark
on the switch is not visible, then close
the door.
The door will not lock if the key is left in
theignitionswitchwhenthefrontdoors
close. This is normal. (Not all models)

Thereardoorsarefittedwithchildproof
locks to prevent accidental opening of
thedoorsusingtheinsidedoorhandle,
whilstallowingaccessbymeansofthe
outside handle (such as is required in
the event of an acccident for example)
provided that the door lock button is at
the unlocked position. Use of the child
prooflockmechanismisrecommended
whenchildrenarecarriedinthevehicle.
The child proof lock mechanism may
be activated by opening the door and
moving the lever located by the door
latch to the " " locked position. Move

To lock the doors from inside, simply
closethedoorandpushthelockswitch
to the "LOCK" position.
When this is done, the door cannot be
opened using either the inside or the
outsidedoorhandle.
NOTE:
o When locking the door this way,
be careful not to lock the door
with the ignition key left in the
vehicle.

When the door is locked, the red
markontheswitchisnotvisibleand
thecharacter"LOCK"ontheswitch
is visible.
