CAUTION:
o When a fault develops in the
Passenger'sFrontAirbagDeacti-
vation/ Reactivation system the
SRSControlModuleputsthesys-
temintoits'safe'modewhichwill
automatically reactivate the pas-
sengersfrontairbagsystemwhich
is why the passenger's front air
bag OFF indicator goes out, the
fault in the system is then indi-
catedbytheSRSservicereminder
light being displayed.
o SHOULD A COLLISION OCCUR
THE PASSENGER’S FRONT AIR
BAGCOULDTHENINFLATE,EVEN
IF THE DEACTIVATION SWITCH
IS SET TO THE 'OFF' POSITION.
IftheSRSservicereminderwarning
light does not illuminate when the
ignition key is turned on, or if it
illuminates whist the vehicle is be-
ing driven, then the vehicle should
be inspected immediately by a
HyundaiAuthorisedRepairer tohave
theSRSairbagsystemcheckedout.

WARNING:
Your Hyundai is equipped with a side
impact airbag in each front seat. The
purpose of the airbag is to provide the
vehicle'sdriverand/orthefrontpassen-
ger with additional protection than that
offeredbytheseatbeltalone.Theside
impact airbags are designed to deploy
only during certain side impact colli-
sions,dependingonthecrashseverity,
angle, speed and point of impact. The
airbagsarenotdesignedtodeployinall
side impact situations.
Itisthedriver'sresponsibilityforthe
correctusageofthepassengersfront
air bag switch. Deactivate the
passenger'sfrontairbagonlywhen
the ignition is switched off, or a
malfunction may occur in the SRS
Control Module. As soon as deacti-
vation is no longer needed, reacti-
vatethepassenger'sfrontairbag.
