ChildrenandSeatingPositionwithSideandCurtainAirBags:
Allowinganyonetoleanoveroragainstthesidewindow,theareaofthefront
passengerseat,frontandrearwindowpillarsandtheroofedgealongbothsidesfrom
whichthesideandcurtainairbagsdeploy,evenifachild-restraintsystemisused,is
dangerous.Ifthevehicleisequippedwithsideandcurtainairbags,theimpactof
inflationcouldcauseseriousinjuryordeathtothechild.Furthermore,leaningover
oragainstthefrontdoorcouldblockthesideandcurtainairbagsandeliminatethe
advantagesofsupplementalprotection.Withthefrontairbagandtheadditionalside
airbagthatcomesoutofthefrontseat,therearseatisalwaysabetterlocationfor
children.Donotallowachildtoleanoveroragainstthesidewindow,evenifthechild
isseatedinachild-restraintsystem.

Usingoneseatbeltformorethanonepersonatatimeisdangerous.Aseatbeltused
inthiswaycan'tspreadtheimpactforcesproperlyandthetwopassengerscouldbe
crushedtogetherandseriouslyinjuredorevenkilled.Neveruseonebeltformore
thanonepersonatatime.
CAUTION
Aseatbeltorchild-restraintsystemcanbecomeveryhotinaclosedvehicleduring
warmweather.Toavoidburningyourselforachild,checkthembeforeyouoryourchild
touchesthem.
