TheAdvanceTracsystemautomaticallyturnsonwhentheengineis
started.However,thesystemdoesnotfunctionwhenthevehicleis
travelinginR(Reverse).
Ifyouareoperatingthespeedcontrolsystemandroadconditions
changecausingtheAdvanceTractoactivate,theAdvanceTracwill
disengagethespeedcontrol.Whendrivingconditionspermit,youcan
returntospeedcontrolbypressingtheREScontrol.RefertoSpeed
controlintheDrivercontrolschapter.
TheAdvanceTracbuttonallowsthe
drivertocontroltheavailabilityof
theAdvanceTracsystem.
AdvanceTracsystemstatusis
indicatedbytheAdvanceTrac
indicatorlightintheinstrument
clusterwhenthesystemisdeactivated.
TheAdvanceTracsystemcannotbedeactivatedwhenthevehiclespeed
isabove45mph(70km/h)eventhoughtheAdvanceTracindicatorlight
maybeilluminatedintheinstrumentcluster.
IfafailureisdetectedintheAdvanceTracsystem,theAdvanceTrac
indicatorlightintheinstrumentclusterwillstayon.Havethevehicle
systemservicedbyanauthorizeddealerimmediately.
Ifthevehicleisstuckinsnowormudorwhendrivingindeepsand,
switchingofftheAdvanceTracsystemmaybebeneficialsothewheels
areallowedtospin.Ifyourvehicleseemstoloseenginepowerwhile
drivingindeepsandorverydeepsnow,switchingofftheAdvanceTrac
stabilityenhancementfeaturewillrestorefullenginepowerandwill
enhancemomentumthroughtheobstacle.
Somedriversmaynoticeaslightmovementofthebrakepedalwhenthe
AdvanceTracperformsasystemself-check.DuringAdvanceTrac
operationyoumayexperiencethefollowing:
