Operation

malfunction indicator lamp± to

illuminate.

The fuel filler flap is located on the right-hand

side of the vehicle towards the rear.

Locking/unlocking the vehicle with the

SmartKey automatically locks/unlocks the

fuel filler flap.

X Close fuel filler flap 1.

Check regularly and before a long trip

For information on quantities and

requirements of operating agents, see “Fuels,

coolants, lubricants, etc.” (Y page 391).

X Remove the SmartKey from the starter

switch.

KEYLESS-GO: Open the driver’s door (this

puts the starter switch in position 0, same

as with the SmartKey removed from the

starter switch). The driver’s door then can

be closed again.

i In case the central locking system does

not release the fuel filler flap, or the

opening mechanism is clamping, contact

Roadside Assistance or an authorized

Mercedes-Benz Center.

Check the following:

_REngine oil level (Y page 256)

_RTire inflation pressure (Y page 268)

R^{Coolant level (}^Y^{page 258)}

X Opening: Press fuel filler flap ₁at the

point indicated by the arrow.

RVehicle lighting (Y page 355)

^X^{Turn fuel filler cap}2 ^{counterclockwise.}

_RWasher system and headlamp cleaning

X Take off fuel filler cap ₂.

_RBrake fluid (Y page 287), (Y page 316),

X Place fuel filler cap ₂in direction of arrow

into holder 3.

X Fully insert filler nozzle unit and refuel.

X Only fill your tank until the filler nozzle unit

cuts out – do not top off or overfill.

X Closing: Turn fuel filler cap ₂ clockwise

until it audibly engages.

i Make sure to close the fuel filler flap

before locking your vehicle as the flap

X Turn off the engine.
