Unlocking/locking manually
Locking the vehicle
i This procedure does not arm the anti-
theft alarm system, nor does it lock the fuel
filler flap.
If you cannot lock the vehicle with the
SmartKey or with KEYLESS-GO, lock it as
follows:
Fuel filler flap
X Close the front passenger door, the rear
doors and the trunk.
X Open the driver’s door.
G Warning!
Avoid contact with the vehicle walls as they
may contain sharp edges. Otherwise, you
could injure yourself while releasing the
fuel filler flap.
X Press the central locking switch

Y page 81).
The locking knobs of the front passenger
door and the rear doors move down.

Locking
Mechanical key
In case the central locking system does not
release the fuel filler flap, you can open it
manually.
The fuel filler flap release is located behind a
cover in the right side trim panel of the trunk.
X If the vehicle battery is disconnected or
drained: Press down the locking knobs of   X Insert mechanical key 2 into the driver’s
the front passenger door and the rear doors
manually.
X Exit the vehicle.
X Close the driver’s door.
door lock until it stops.
X Turn mechanical key 2 clockwise to
position $.
The vehicle is locked.
X Turn mechanical key 2 back and remove
it from the driver’s door lock.
X Open the trunk (Y page 81).
X Open the fuse box in the trunk
(
Y page 373).
X Check whether the doors and the trunk are
locked.
X If necessary, lock the trunk with the
mechanical key (Y page 83).
