Control system
Setting daytime running lamp mode (USA In low ambient light conditions the following
only)
lamps will come on additionally:
X Move the selection marker with button
æ orç to theLighting submenu.
RParking lamps
RTail lamps
X Press buttonj ork repeatedly until
the messageLamp Circuit Headlamp
appears in the multifunction display.
RLicense plate lamps
RSide marker lamps

For more information on the daytime running
lamp mode, see “Lighting” (Y page 116).
For safety reasons, changing the setting for
the daytime running lamp mode is not
possible while the vehicle is in motion.
The selection marker is on the current
setting.
X Press buttonæ orç to set the
month, day, or year.
Lighting submenu
The following message appears in the
multifunction display:
Settings can only be made at a
standstill.
Access theLighting submenu via the
Settings menu. Use theLighting submenu
to change the lamp and lighting settings on
your vehicle.
For safety reasons, resetting all the functions
of all submenus to the factory settings while
driving (Y page 152) will not deactivate the
daytime running lamp mode.
The following functions are available:
X Press buttonæ orç to select
manual operation (Manual) or daytime
running lamp mode (Constant).
RSetting daytime running lamp mode (USA
only) (Y page 156)
RSetting locator lighting (Y page 156)
With daytime running lamp mode activated
and the exterior lamp switch in position
M orU, the low-beam headlamps are
switched on when the engine is running.
