Reading the road
From bends to straights to city streets, every road requires
a different response. That’s why the SL comes with
Active Body Control (ABC). By monitoring ride height,
acceleration and sideways force, it’s able to read the
situation and adjust the suspension settings accordingly.
This enables it to minimise body roll when cornering,
for instance, and to compensate for pitching and diving
under acceleration or braking.
You can also alter the suspension settings manually
–
by selecting sport mode whenever you’re in the mood.
It gives you firmer settings, faster responses and reduced
roll, making for sportier cornering and greater stability
in emergency manoeuvres.
Active Body Control comes as standard on the SL500,
SL600 and on AMG models and is available as an option
for the SL350 (not available on SL300).
