Racing feeling at the
turn of a key
Start up an SL and it’s not just the engine that
comes to life. The speedometer and rev counter
needles, which sit at six o’clock when the
engine’s switched off, spring into action too.
As soon as you turn the ignition key – or press
the starter button if Keyless-Go is fitted – they
flick round their respective dials before coming
to rest at zero.
What’s more, the instruments are eye-catching
even when not in action. The two central dials
are designed in a 3D chronograph style, while
the instrument binnacle features an attractive
stitched leather-look finish.
A standard three-spoke steering wheel further
enhances the sporty look and feel. As an option,
it can be specified with racing-style gear
shift paddles (standard with SL600 and with
Sports Package).
