Instrument cluster
During severe operating conditions, e.g.
stop-and-go traffic, the coolant tempera-
ture may rise close to 248°F (120°C).
Tachometer
The red marking on the tachometer de-
notes excessive engine speed.
The engine should not be operated with
the coolant temperature above 248°F
(120°C). Doing so may cause serious en-
gine damage which is not covered by the
Mercedes-Benz Limited Warranty.

gine damage that is not covered by the
Mercedes-Benz Limited Warranty.

Switch on the ignition (୴ page 35).
Call up the trip odometer and main
odometer (୴ page 123) by pressing
button è or ÿ on the multifunc-
tion steering wheel (୴ page 124).
Trip odometer
To help protect the engine, the fuel supply
is interrupted if the engine is operated
within the red marking.

Make sure you are viewing the trip
odometer display (୴ page 123).

Press button j or k until the
coolant temperature display appears.
If it is not displayed, press button è
or ÿ on the multifunction steering
wheel (୴ page 124) until the trip
odometer appears.

Excessive coolant temperature triggers
a warning in the multifunction display

̈ Press and hold the reset button on the
instrument cluster (୴ page 120) until
the trip odometer is reset.
