pressuremonitoringsystem,thesystemmay
notfunctioncorrectlywhenusingtireswith
steelwirereinforcementinthesidewalls(page
5-31).
Installingthechains

1. Securethechainsonthefronttiresas
tightlyaspossible.Alwaysfollowthe
chainmanufacturer'sinstructions.
Checklocalregulationsbeforeusingtire
chains.

Retightenthechainsafterdriving1/2
―
1km(1/4―1/2mile).
CAUTION
ØChainsmayaffecthandling.
ØDonotgofasterthan50km/h(30
mph)orthechainmanufacturer's
recommendedlimit,whicheveris
lower.
ØDrivecarefullyandavoidbumps,
holes,andsharpturns.
ØAvoidlocked-wheelbraking.
ØDonotusechainsonatemporary
sparetire;itmayresultindamage
tothevehicleandtothetire.
ØDonotusechainsonroadsthat
arefreeofsnoworice.Thetires
andchainscouldbedamaged.
ØChainsmayscratchorchip
aluminumwheels.
NOTE
UseoftirechainsonavehicleequippedwithP
245/50R20
specificationtirescouldcause
interferencewiththevehiclebodyand
scratching.Iftirechainsaretobeused,
replacebothfrontandreartireswithP245/60
R18tires.PleaseconsultanAuthorizedMazda
Dealer.
