AlwayskeeptowloadswithinspecifiedlimitsasindicatedintheTrailerTowing-Load
Table:
Attemptingtotowloadsgreaterthanthosespecifiedisdangerousasitmaycause
serioushandlingandperformanceproblemsthatcouldresultinpersonalinjuryor
vehicledamage,orboth.
Loadyourtrailerwiththeweightabout60%towardthefrontand40%towardthe
rear:
Loadingthetrailerwithmoreweightintherearthaninthefrontisdangerous.
Doingsocouldcauseyoutolosecontrol.Thetrailertongueloadmustbe10%―15%
ofthetotaltrailerload(sumoftheweightsofthetrailerandcargo).
Alwayshavethetotaltrailerweightandtongueloaddeterminedpriortodeparture:
Attemptingtotowloadswithoutdeterminingthetotaltrailerweightandtongue
loadisdangerous.Trailerswayfromcrosswinds,roughroadsorothercausescould
resultinlossofcontrolandaseriousaccident.
CAUTION
Thetotaltrailerweightandtongueloadcanbedeterminedbyweighingthetrailer
onplatformscalesatahighwayweightstationoratruckingcompany.

Useonlyahitchballrecommendedbythetrailermanufacturerthatconformstothegross
trailerweightrequirement.
Whennottowingatrailer,removethetrailerhitch(ifdetachable)toreducethepossibility
ofdamageasaresultofthevehiclebeingrear-ended.
