STARTINGPROCEDURES
NormalStarting
Beforestartingyourvehicle,adjustyourseat,adjustboth
insideandoutsidemirrors,andfastenyourseatbelts.
NOTE:
engine is obtained without pumping or pressing the
acceleratorpedal.
Normal starting of either a cold or a warm
WARNING!
Turn the ignition switch to the START position and
releasewhentheenginestarts.Iftheenginefailstostart
within10seconds,turntheignitionswitchtotheLOCK
position,wait10to15seconds,thenrepeatthe“Normal
Starting”procedure.
Never leave children alone in a vehicle. Leaving
children in a vehicle unattended is dangerous for a
number of reasons. A child or others could be seri-
ouslyorfatallyinjured.Donotleavethekeysinthe
ignition. A child could operate power windows,
othercontrols,ormovethevehicle.

TurntheignitionswitchtoSTARTpositionandreleaseit
StarttheenginewiththeshiftleverintheNEUTRALor as soon as the starter engages. The starter motor will
PARK position. Apply the brake before shifting to any continue to run, but will automatically disengage itself
drivingrange.
whentheengineisrunning.Iftheenginefailstostart,the
starterwilldisengageautomaticallyin10seconds.Ifthis
occurs, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position,
wait10to15seconds,thenrepeatthe“NormalStarting”
procedure.
