will release brake pressure in proportion to amount of

Many factors, such as vehicle loading, road condi-
tions, and driving conditions, influence the chance
thatwheelliftorrollovermayoccur.ElectronicRoll
Mitigation (ERM) cannot prevent all wheel lift or
rollovers, especially those that involve leaving the
roadway or striking objects or other vehicles. The
capabilitiesofanERM-equippedvehiclemustnever
be exploited in a reckless or dangerous manner,
whichcouldjeopardizetheuser’ssafetyorthesafety
ofothers.
ThefollowingconditionsmustbemetinorderforHSAto
activate:
• Thevehiclemustbestopped.
•
• The(i.e.,gearvehicleselectionfacingmustuphillmatchis invehicleforwarduphillgear;directionvehicle

Forvehiclesequippedwithanautomatictransmission,
theHSAwillworkinREVERSEgearandallforward
gears.Thesystemwillnotactivateifthetransmission
isinPARK.
TheHSAsystemisdesignedtohelpthedriveraccelerate
thevehiclefromacompletestopwhileonanincline.If
thedriverreleasesthebrakewhilestoppedonanincline,
HSAwillcontinuetoholdthebrakepressureforashort
period.Ifthedriverdoesnotapplythethrottlebeforethis
