BeltAlertisafeatureintendedtoremindthedriverand
front passenger (if equipped with front passenger 2
BeltAlert)tofastentheirseatbelts.Thisfeatureisactive
whenever the ignition is on. If the driver or front seat
passengerisunbelted,theSeatBeltReminderLightwill
turn on and remain on until both front seatbelts are
fastened.BeltAlerttriggerswithin60secondsofvehicle
speedover5mph(8km/h).Theremindersequencelasts
for 96 seconds or until the respective seatbelts are fas-
tened. After the sequence completes, the Seat Belt Re-
minder Light remains illuminated until front belts are
fastened. The driver should instruct all other occupants
